Job Summary
The Customer Product Owner is responsible for translating customer goals, pain points, and business needs into actionable high-level requirements for Valorian’s development team. This role collaborates with customers, internal stakeholders, and the Technical Product Manager to ensure that Valorian’s solutions deliver measurable value, enhance efficiency, and align with customer-specific objectives. The Customer Product Owner serves as the primary advocate for the customer within the development process, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and alignment with strategic goals. This is a hybrid role with required visits to client sites.
What you'll be doing
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate directly with customers to understand their operational goals, pain points, and specific requirements.
- Requirement Definition: Define high-level business requirements and objectives for customer-facing products, ensuring they are clear, actionable, and aligned with Valorian’s app development framework.
- Goal Alignment: Develop and manage customer goals, including 90-day, 1-year, and 3-year objectives, to guide product development priorities.
- Collaboration with TPM: Work closely with the Technical Product Manager to translate high-level business requirements into functional and technical specifications and data models.
- Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and development capacity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between customers, internal teams, and leadership to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
- Quality Validation: Collaborate with QA and development teams to validate that delivered solutions meet customer expectations and business requirements.
- Continuous Feedback Loop: Gather and incorporate feedback from customers and stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure product improvements align with their evolving needs.
Requirements
Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of industrial service provider workflows, processes, and compliance needs.
- Familiarity with Valorian’s modular framework and its components (e.g., automation, workflows, forms, integrations).
- Experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment.
- Ability to articulate customer requirements in a way that balances technical feasibility and business impact.

Position Criteria:
- Must be located in the Houston or Gulf Coast region
- Travel required up to 40%
- Oil and gas industry experience highly preferred
